uBABE is a character created from a typeface called Courier. She is a Muse at the Wollaton School of Art. uBABE is an alpha female, Amazon, Sphinx and generally a bit of a tough bitch. When she lectures on art she prefers to talk about Leger, Rousseau, Picasso and L S Lowry whose art works remind her of her self.

About the paintings.. Like a bird on a wire... I have tried in my way to be free. My work is imagined rather than observed. It is expressive and colourful. I create new images that speak with the past but are not recreations. It is painting rather than "Art" that interests me. it's all about the painting process, applying colour, using texture, making marks. the intereting surface. The painting develops over time. They may seem finished at one point but then later are reworked. The work you see may have been several other paintings during it's lifetime. My enduring influences are many but include mostly Turner, Rembrandt and Rothko.
